Teapot Washcloth

Materials: Sugar and Cream cotton yarn (or similar)

Size #6 US knitting needles

Finished cloth measures: 9”x 9”

Abbreviations:

K=Knit,    P= Purl,   Garter St=  knit each row

 

NOTE: The beginning and end of each row is

worked in Garter St over 4 sts, this creates the 2 side borders.

 

Let’s begin:  

Cast on 40sts.

 

Rows 1-8: Garter St (knit each row)

Row 9: RS: Knit across

Row 10 and all even numbered rows: K4, P32, K4

(Repeat Rows 9 & 10 four more times.)

 

Sequence for Odd numbered rows:

 

Row 19: K13, P13, K14

Row 21: K14, P11, K15

Row 23: K15, P9, K16

Row 25: K14, P11, K15

Row 27: K13, P13 K14

Row 29: K11, P18, K11

Row 31: K8, P22, K10

Row 33: K7, P2, K2, P21, K8

Row 35: K6, P2, K3, P23, K6

Row 37: K6, P2, K3, P16, K3, P4, K6

Row 39: K6, P2, K4, P15, K13

Row 41: K6, P2, K3, P1, K1, P13, K14

Row 43: K7, P4, K4, P10, K15

Row 45: K17, P6, K17

Row 47: K18, P4, K18

Row 49: K19, P2, K19

Row 51: Knit across

Row 52: K4, P32, K4

(Repeat rows 51 & 52 four more times.)

Row 61-68: Garter St (knit each row)
